This bulk assortment of real rooster feathers includes small shoulder/back plumes, medium hackle feathers as well as medium sized regular/standard type contour feathers. I broke down each type into three separate piles in some of the photos.

- Size: Approx. 1.5-3.5" inches / 3.81-8.89 centimeters

Shoulder/back plumage: Warm white with red highlights. Approximately one and a half to two and a half inches in length. They have a arrowhead shape with eyelash fringe along the upper edges. The lower half is fluffy.
Hackles: Cream colored with red-blond highlights. Are about three to three and a half inches long. They are slender and tapered with eyelash fringe along the edges. They have a little fluff at the bottom.
Standard/regular (contour): Mostly an off-white color, other hues may be present. Range somewhere between three to three and a half inches long. These feathers have a softer shape and look. They are more solid and rounded; lacking fringe. They tend to have a nice amount of fluff at their base.
I clean my birds feathers using filtered well water, Eco soap, vinegar and heat sterilization.
Feathers are hand packaged and labeled with my farms information, the type of bird, the quantity and the size.
I am not a feather reseller. I exclusively sell feathers only from my own humanely raised birds on my small Eco farm.
Feathers are from my smoking free home, although I do heat my home exclusively with a wood stove as I am almost entirely off of the grid and this is my only source of heat.
Size: S-M
Size Examples:
I have provided stock photos of feathers with a United States Standard ruler which is twelve inches long (12"). A standard United States silver quarter (25¢) is pictured with the ruler to further assist with scale. I have also provided stock photos of feathers in my hand for those who prefer not to use standard measurements.
If you are unsure of the size of feathers that you need, I strongly recommend getting a ruler, tape measure, dress makers tape, etc. and looking at the size/s you need in inches (rather than using the eyeball it in the hand method). First measure where you want to use the feathers and what your expectations are. When you see the approximate length, write it down and compare that length in inches to the feathers I have listed to help you find the size that's perfect for your needs.
