These feathers have a fluffy base with loose and floppy tips. Some feathers may have a metallic touch in the black depending on how the light strikes them. Their color pattern is known as barred (or grizzly) in shades of black, white, and grey.

These feathers make a nice substitute for Hawk Feathers. Hawk feathers are not only illegal to sell, they are also illegal to own or use in crafts. In no way, shape, or form is it allowed for non American Indian folks to possess these types of feathers. My Barred Rock's feathers substitute nicely and you wont risk being on the wrong side of the law.
I clean my birds feathers using filtered well water, Eco soap, vinegar and heat sterilization.
Feathers are hand packaged and labeled with my farms information, the type of bird, the quantity and the size.
I am not a feather reseller. I exclusively sell feathers only from my own humanely raised birds on my small Eco-farm.
Feathers are from my smoking free home, although I do heat my home exclusively with a wood stove as I am almost entirely off of the grid and this is my only source of heat.

I have provided photos of these feathers with a United States Standard ruler which is twelve inches long (12"). A standard United States copper penny (1¢) is pictured with the ruler to further assist with scale.
If you are unsure of the size of feathers that you need, I strongly recommend getting a ruler, tape measure, dress makers tape, etc. and looking at the size/s you need in inches (rather than using the eyeball it in the hand method). First measure where you want to use the feathers and what your expectations are.
