Zebras Grazing the Plains on Heavy Rough Cut Lumber
My husband wood burned this image on a piece of thick rough cut lumber that our neighbor cut from a fallen cherry tree on his property using his saw mill. The natural growth and coloring of the wood was used to help add depth and detail to the overall image.
The upper half of the wood is a lighter color which is depicted as the sky. The lower half has a darker grain with a rough flowing section that adds depth and character. The two grazing zebras are burned on the wood. Small tufts of plains grasses have also been burned into the wood completing the image.
