Ginned Raw Arkansas Green Cotton Lint Spinning Fiber - 1 Ounce
Hand grown, picked, seeded, packed, and grown using better than organic methods, heirloom Sea Island Brown raw cotton lint (no seeds). It takes me approx. four hours to de-seed (aka gin) one ounce of cotton by hand. One ounce of cotton is what is pictured.
After the lint (cotton) has been hand pulled from the husk (boll), each individual seed is removed by hand, all that remains is the pure raw cotton lint. The bolls are not included. They are just to show what the cotton looks like intact.
If you spin, you will welcome having your very own chemical free all natural cotton. No dyes, no bleach, no synthetic fertilizers, no chemicals, nothing artificial, nothing added. One hundred percent pure and natural cotton made by Mother Nature, not Bayer/Monsanto.
- Qty: Approx. 1 ounce
Photos: I have added natural elements such as bird feathers, leaves, shells, Sea Island Brown cotton bolls and even a ruler to help you judge the color of this cotton. These additional items are not included with the ginned cotton.
There are approx. 200 seeds per ounce.
There are approx. 20 sections per ounce (for a section, see third picture).
Approx. weights/fills/sizes for cotton filled pillows:
Standard 20" x 25" light fill weight 25 oz. or 29 oz. standard fill weight.
Queen: 20" x 30" 30 oz. light fill weight or 35 oz. standard fill weight.

For those of you with classes spinning raw cotton:
One ounce (uncompressed, loose, lofty) fills approx. 75% of a 1 gallon zip lock bag.
Feel good knowing you are getting heirloom (non GMO) cotton grown in a chemical free environment (organics). I intermingle all my crops creating a messy but beautiful landscape. I believe this attracts a larger variety of bugs, helping to keep any one species from overtaking. No sprays or treatments, even the organic approved types. I work with Mother Nature, not against her...
