Loblolly Pine Tree Sapling (Pinus Taeda)
These Loblolly Pine saplings are shipped to you bare root. This is a fast growing pine tree that is popular for a quick landscaping screen. It is also a well known American timber tree. It has broad reddish brown bark that grows in plates or shingles. It has long pale green needles & good sized pine cones when mature.
The needles can be used in plant based recipes and the pine cones make a fun and tasty treat for bunnies and other small pets who love to chew.
Saplings are about 1' foot / 12" tall
First photo shows some of the saplings with my very small cat (we call her a kitten cat) named Muffin doing a photo bomb. I have also included photos of some of these baby trees the day of planting. They look much smaller once in the ground as the root system is where it belongs (underground). The last photo was taken from The Arbor Day Foundation to give you an idea of what an adult tree typically looks like.
The Loblolly Pine does best in full sun and is hardy to negative ten degrees ferinheight. It grows upwards of 50 to 100 feet tall with a spread of twenty five to thirty five feet.
