Per the standard of perfection for Chestnut Agouti in angora breeds (including ARBA-recognized traits), the surface color is a rich chestnut ticked with black-tipped guard hairs; when blown into or parted, the wool reveals clear alternating bands of tan (intermediate ring) and slate (darker undercolor), with blue-grey at the base near the skin.
