This luxurious, undyed raw angora wool showcases River's classic Chestnut Agouti coloring—the "wild type" pattern with rich, natural banding that adds incredible depth and interest. Per the standard of perfection for Chestnut Agouti in angora breeds (including ARBA-recognized traits), the surface color is a rich chestnut ticked with black-tipped guard hairs; when blown into or parted, the wool reveals clear alternating bands of tan (intermediate ring) and slate (darker undercolor), with blue-grey at the base near the skin. The overall effect is a warm, ticked brown with black ticking and subtle multi-tonal rings—perfect for natural, textured spinning or felting where the banding creates visual movement and dimension without any dye.

Harvest & Prep
Gently hand-pulled (with comb assistance when needed) during natural molting—no scissors or clippers! This careful, ethical method adapts to each harvest: hands for quicker sections when the new coat emerges, and a comb for comfort on my wrists while removing the loose shedding coat comfortably for the bunny. It preserves long, smooth fibers with tapered ends—ideal for luxurious spinning with great halo and gentler feel. Minimally cleaned post-harvest to remove loose bits—ready for your creativity.

Allergy & Sensitivity Note
Raw hand-pulled angora like this is often the gentlest option for sensitive folks—no sharp cut edges, and natural agouti wool can feel extra soft with its banded texture. True angora sensitivities are rare (more often from coarseness or processing), but test a small amount if unsure. Other natural or dyed options in the shop!

Care & Storage Notes
Store raw fiber in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture to maintain softness and prevent mustiness. To help deter moths (a common concern with natural fibers), place cedar blocks or dried lavender nearby—I grow and sell dried lavender stalks here on the farm (perfect for making your own sachets, refillable bags, or using in large natural tea bags). They add a gentle, calming scent while naturally repelling pests (refresh every few months by squeezing). Keep in breathable bags or containers (avoid airtight plastic long-term unless vacuum-sealed briefly). If washing before processing, use cool water and mild soap gently. For finished yarns or items, gentle hand-wash cool—full tips in my guide: How To Clean Angora Wool Sweaters and Clothing.

Photos & Final Notes
Photos taken on worn natural pine wood background to highlight the rich chestnut surface, black ticking, and subtle banding in natural light. Two special shots show River with his coat gently blown during a regular grooming session—clearly revealing the beautiful color bands and ticking. The first photo is River outdoors on green grass in his play pen, looking adorable and full of personality. The wool is packaged in zero-waste tissue paper for Eco-friendly shipping.

Message me anytime—I'm happy to chat bunny raising, farm life, natural dyeing experiments (one of my favorite creative playtimes!), or whatever fiber fun you're up to! While my main focus is caring for the critters and growing things like lavender and dye plants, I love hearing your spinning, felting, or project ideas (customers often teach me new tricks too). Let's geek out together! 🐰🤍🧶

Grab this pure Chestnut Agouti raw lot—limited, ethically harvested, and perfect for natural textured yarns, blending with dyed colors, or spinning pristine banded wool luxury!
