These real hen hackles have rich orange-buff centers with cream colored eyelash fringe along the upper edges. The bottoms have soft fluff that matches the color of the fringe. This color and pattern is known as buff laced. It is a rich orange/buff/brown and white combination of colors. Feathers are slender and tapered. This size of hackle plumage is the largest my hens produce. Feathers have been cleaned, sorted and hand packaged by yours truly. They are ready for use.

Polish chickens are on the Livestock Breeds Conservation Priority List (resources) with fewer than 5,000 breeding birds in the USA, with ten or fewer primary breeding flocks, and estimated global population less than 10,000. When you purchase my birds feathers, you directly help me in my efforts to keep these birds.
I clean my birds feathers using filtered well water, Eco soap, vinegar and heat sterilization.
Feathers are hand packaged and labeled with my farms information, the type of bird, the quantity and the size.
I am not a feather reseller. I exclusively sell feathers only from my own humanely raised birds on my small Eco-farm.
Feathers are from my smoking free home, although I do heat my home exclusively with a wood stove as I am almost entirely off of the grid and this is my only source of heat.

I have provided photos of these feathers with a United States Standard ruler which is twelve inches long (12"). In some of the photos a standard United States silver quarter (25¢) is pictured with the ruler to further assist with scale. In other photos a standard United States copper penny (1¢) is pictured with the ruler to further assist with scale.
If you are unsure of the size of feathers that you need, I strongly recommend getting a ruler, tape measure, dress makers tape, etc. and looking at the size/s you need in inches (rather than using the eyeball it in the hand method). First measure where you want to use the feathers and what your expectations are. When you see the approximate length, write it down and compare that length in inches to the feathers I have listed to help you find the size that's perfect for your needs.
