Bronze turkeys are on The Livestock Conservancy Watch list with fewer than 5,000 breeding birds in the United States, with 10 or fewer primary breeding flocks, and an estimated global population less than 10,000.
Do you know where your turkey feathers come from? When you buy from Running Bug Farm you do! My birds are cruelty free and humanely raised. They live outside 365 days a year free ranging on pasture the way Mother Nature intended. I use natural holistic methods to treat my animals and myself. Running Bug Farm is better than organic. Your purchase supports my Eco farm and I thank you!
I clean my birds feathers using well water, organic soap, vinegar, and heat sterilization.
Feathers are hand packaged & labeled. Labels provide my farms info., type of bird, quantity, and size.
Feathers are from my Eco farm; raised, cared for, and loved by my family. I am not a feather reseller.
Feathers are from my smoking free home, although I do heat my home exclusively with a wood stove as I am almost entirely off of the grid & this is my only source of heat.
I do not sell feathers from endangered, protected, or wild species of birds. Such as Eagle, Hawk, Owl, Falcon, Song Bird, Parrot, etc. I exclusively sell feathers only from my own humanely raised farm birds on my small Eco farm.
I have provided photos of these feathers with a United States standard ruler which is twelve inches long (12"). A standard United States silver quarter (25¢) is pictured with the ruler to further assist with scale.
If you are unsure of the size of feathers that you need, I strongly recommend getting a ruler, tape measure, dress makers tape, etc. and looking at the size/s you need in inches (rather than using the eyeball it in the hand method). First measure where you want to use the feathers and what your expectations are. When you see the approximate length, write it down and compare that length in inches to the feathers I have listed to help you find the size that's perfect for your needs.
