Natural dove grey tail feathers from real birds for crafts. Most plumes have a curved shape with little to no lift. A few feathers may be straight. My hens tail plumage tends to show more wear compared to the rest of their feathers. This is likely due to their happy and active outdoor lifestyle. They run about with other feathered friends all over my farms pastures. They can go in and out of their hen houses as they please. I also allow them sandboxes to dust bathe. I only close the sandboxes when it is raining. All of this healthy activity often leads to less than perfect tail feathers. I always include the best I collect, leaving the plumes with the the most imperfections to my pet toy feather assortments.
- Qty: 15 Lavender Orpington hen feathers (Gallus domesticus)
- Size: Approx. 5-5.5" inches / 12.7-13.97 centimeters

I clean my birds feathers using filtered well water, Eco soap, vinegar and heat sterilization.
Feathers are hand packaged and labeled with my farms information, the type of bird, the quantity and the size.
I am not a feather reseller. I exclusively sell feathers only from my own humanely raised birds on my small Eco farm.
Feathers are from my smoking free home, although I do heat my home exclusively with a wood stove as I am almost entirely off of the grid and this is my only source of heat.
I have provided photos of these feathers with a United States Standard ruler which is twelve inches long (12"). A standard United States silver quarter (25¢) is pictured with the ruler to further assist with scale. I have also provided photos of six of these feathers in my hand for those who prefer not to use standard measurements.
If you are unsure of the size of feathers that you need, I strongly recommend getting a ruler, tape measure, dress makers tape, etc. and looking at the size/s you need in inches (rather than using the eyeball it in the hand method). First measure where you want to use the feathers and what your expectations are. When you see the approximate length, write it down and compare that length in inches to the feathers I have listed to help you find the size that's perfect for your needs.
