Real metallic blue green rooster hackles for crafts. When these feathers are not reflecting the light to catch their iridescence, they are a combination of dark reddish brown and black. The black runs down the their slender centers. It is within the black of these natural plumes that displays the metallic sheen. The overall shape is thin and tapered. Fine eyelash fringe runs along the outer edges. Soft fluff adorns their base.

I have taken care to provide photos of this plumage on two different natural backgrounds in hopes of helping you see how the feather can look under various themes. The last photo is of one my Black Laced Red Wyandotte roosters free ranging. While the photo of him is from a distance, you can click the photo and hover over it to get a close up view.
I clean my birds feathers using filtered well water, Eco soap, vinegar and heat sterilization.
Feathers are hand packaged and labeled with my farms information, the type of bird, the quantity and the size.
I am not a feather reseller. I exclusively sell feathers only from my own humanely raised birds on my small Eco-farm.
Feathers are from my smoking free home, although I do heat my home exclusively with a wood stove as I am almost entirely off of the grid and this is my only source of heat.

I have provided photos of these feathers with a United States Standard ruler which is twelve inches long (12"). A standard United States silver quarter (25¢) is pictured with the ruler to further assist with scale. I have also provided photos of these feathers with my hand for those who prefer not to use standard measurements.
If you are unsure of the size of feathers that you need, I strongly recommend getting a ruler, tape measure, dress makers tape, etc. and looking at the size/s you need in inches (rather than using the eyeball it in the hand method). First measure where you want to use the feathers and what your expectations are. When you see the approximate length, write it down and compare that length in inches to the feathers I have listed to help you find the size that's perfect for your needs.
