These are genuine Barred Rock hen wing and tail feathers — beautiful black and white barred plumes with a semi-flexible texture. The classic barred pattern closely resembles hawk feathers, making them an excellent and fully legal substitute for crafts where a barred look is desired.
Naturally molted and hand-collected from my own free-ranging Barred Rock hens.

All feathers are carefully collected from my own flock (I am not a reseller). They are cleaned using filtered well water, Eco-friendly soap, vinegar, and heat sterilization, then hand-packaged and labeled in my smoke-free (wood-stove heated) home.
Important Note on Hawk Feather Substitutes Barred Rock feathers are a popular, legal alternative to protected hawk feathers. Please note that possessing or using real hawk feathers is illegal for non-Native American individuals under federal law. These Barred Rock feathers provide a similar beautiful barred look without any legal risk.

I have provided stock photos of feathers with a United States Standard ruler which is twelve inches long (12"). A standard United States silver quarter (25¢) is pictured with the ruler to further assist with scale. I provided a photo of a package of feathers in my hand and a photo of feathers in my hand for those who prefer not to use standard measurements.
If you are unsure of the size of feathers that you need, I strongly recommend getting a ruler, tape measure, dress makers tape, etc. and looking at the size/s you need in inches (rather than using the eyeball it in the hand method). First measure where you want to use the feathers and what your expectations are. When you see the approximate length, write it down and compare that length in inches to the feathers I have listed to help you find the size that's perfect for your needs.
