Expected back in stock summer 2025. 2024 brought us extreme heat & drought. This dramatically affected our crops & yields. Thank you all so much for your support and understanding.
Contents are 100% whole catnip leaf Nepeta cataria. No stems! You can give it to your cat as is or crush it, releasing even more scent. By not turning my catnip into dust, I enable the herb to retain it's potency; providing your kitty with a exciting treat!
Use my freshly dried premium catnip to refill your cat's favorite toy, stuff a catnip mat or pillow, put in a sock, or just spread on the floor for a Catnip Roll-A-Thon or maybe I should say a Drool-A-Thon?

Unlike any other, Running Bug Farm Catnip is...
Freshly Dried: My catnip is harvested every three days and air dried. My premium 'nip is no more than a month old when shipped to you.
Natural loose whole leaf catnip is the cats meow! I start harvesting my chemical free catnip herb by hand when the herb plants begin to flower. All day long I watch as a variety of winged locals visit my catnip crop. From gold finches chattering among the stalks, to bees peacefully buzzing from bud to bud. I dive right in the mix cutting as much as I can fit into my dehydrator which I set at a low herb safe 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
Hand Clipped: First I cut off the leaves, removing any small stems so there are no poke-y bits, just 100% catnip leaf. Next I snip off the seed heads for the Catnip Buds. The small bits that I don't dry are given to my kitties to roll around in. Anything unused is composted.
Whole Leaves: Minimally processed whole leaf catnip retains its scent better than chopped or torn pieces. When whole leaves break up during use they release even more of their intoxicating scent!
Feel good knowing you are getting non GMO catnip grown in a natural environment free from chemicals and synthetic fertilizers. I intermingle all my herbs creating a messy but beautifully interesting landscape. I believe this attracts a larger variety of bugs, helping to keep any one species from overtaking. NO! sprays or treatments, even the organic approved types. I work with Mother Nature, not against her...
Grown with Organic Methods: My catnip grows with nothing more than water, West Virginia mountain sunshine and organic compost from my own Eco farm (NEVER any pesticides, insecticides or herbicides). The only thing it is ever sprayed with is rain water. Some leaves may have holes or nibbled edges, but insect activity actually encourages catnip plants to make more nepetalactone, the active ingredient that cats adore.
Catnip for humans:
It is very calming for both the body and the mind. It is very useful for children with digestive &/or emotional disturbances. The essential oil can be used as a fragrance in perfumes, as a culinary flavoring, and as an insect repellent. Note: Pregnant women should avoid catnip, as it can induce uterine contractions.
Catnip for cats:
It gets cats high, it makes them happy, spunky and silly. They enjoy the plant live or dried. The buds are the most potent part of the plant. Put it into cat toys or give it to them as is. They will love you for it! Note: Kittens younger than eight weeks old aren't able to enjoy catnip, wait until they are older.
It is always good to supervise your kitty while at play with any toy.
Cats can become desensitized to catnip if exposed to it too often. I recommend reserving catnip drool fests to 1 or 2 times a week.
My premium catnip is seasonal, so supplies are limited!
Catnip is from my smoking free home, although I do heat my home exclusively with a wood stove as I am almost entirely off of the grid and this is my only source of heat.
1/2 ounce equals approximately 2 cups of very loosely packed (not crushed) kitty krack.
Note: Catnip may get crushed in shipping.
