Harvest & Prep
Gently hand-cut with scissors during natural molting—no pulling or plucking. This method provides clean, even staple lengths with uniform ends (great for consistent carding, spinning, or felting without second cuts). Thoroughly rinsed multiple times post-dye for softness and dye stability.
Allergy & Sensitivity Note
Hand-cut angora like this is loved for its uniformity and clean feel, though some with sensitivities prefer the smoother tapered ends of hand-pulled wool (no sharp cut edges). True angora allergies are rare (often from processing or coarser fibers), but test a small amount if you're new to it. Check my shop for pulled options!
Dye & Care Notes
Non-toxic dye with multiple rinses for vibrant, lasting color—but as with hand-dyed fibers (especially lighter blues), slight initial bleeding can occur (common and temporary). Wash separately in cool water with mild soap or a vinegar rinse to set fully. For finished angora care (sweaters, yarn, etc.), see my guide: How To Clean Angora Wool Sweaters and Clothing.
Photos on vintage white rabbit pelt (for true pale sky pop) and real wood background (for rustic texture contrast), plus a final shot of the very well-groomed Cloud Dreamer sporting his pretty blue butterfly barrette—attempting to hold his bangs out of those gorgeous eyes!
Images may vary by screen/lighting, but these capture the soft Easter/spring essence best.
Message me for carding tips, felting ideas, or spinning suggestions—this pretty blue mixes beautifully with pastels, whites, or your other spring tones for whimsical projects! 🐰🩵
