These real hen hackles are narrow, but not as narrow nor tapered as a roosters hackle feathers. They are a soft black color with long golden centers and a bit of grey fluff at their base. The edges of these natural chicken feathers have short gold colored fringe. Depending on the lighting, the black can show a touch of a blue/green metallic. If the light doesn't hit them just so, the black color will appear solid black with no iridescent sheen.
- Qty: Approx. 25 assorted Golden Laced Wyandotte hen hackles
- Size: Approx. 2.5" inches / 6.35 centimeters

I have included photos on three different backgrounds in an effort to help you see how my birds feathers look. I have also provided a photo of one of my hens out an about in the late winter.
I clean my birds feathers using filtered well water, Eco soap, vinegar and heat sterilization.
Feathers are hand packaged in a neat bunch and labeled with my farms information, the type of bird, the quantity and the size.
I am not a feather reseller. I exclusively sell feathers only from my own humanely raised feathered friends on my small Eco farm in the USA.
All my birds feathers are from my smoking free home, although I do heat my home exclusively with a wood stove as I am almost entirely off of the grid and this is my only source of heat.
Size: S
Size Examples:
I have provided photos of these feathers with a United States Standard ruler which is twelve inches long (12"). A standard United States copper penny (1¢) is pictured with the ruler to further assist with scale.
If you are unsure of the size of feathers that you need, I strongly recommend getting a ruler, tape measure, dress makers tape, etc. and looking at the size/s you need in inches (rather than using the eyeball it in the hand method). First measure where you want to use the feathers and what your expectations are. When you see the approximate length, write it down and compare that length in inches to the feathers I have listed to help you find the size that's perfect for your needs.
