These molted hen hackles come from the neck area of my pastoral flock of chickens. The main feather body is laced in black with mostly narrow gold colored centers. They have matching golden fringe along the edges of the upper body. The lower body has soft grey fluff. The black areas of the plumage can look metallic depending on the angle and brightness of the light they are in. If the light doesn't strike them to enhance this iridescence, the black will look like solid or plain ol' black. I have taken photos on three different natural backgrounds in hopes of helping you determine if these real feathers are suitable for your crafts.I have also provided a photo of one of my hens foraging on a very sunny day in late winter.
- Qty: Approx. 20 assorted Golden Laced Wyandotte hen hackles
- Size: Approx. 3" inches / 7.62 centimeters

I clean my birds feathers using filtered well water, Eco soap, vinegar and heat sterilization.
All my birds feathers are from my smoking free home, although I do heat my home exclusively with a wood stove as I am almost entirely off of the grid and this is my only source of heat.
I am not a feather reseller. I exclusively sell feathers only from my own humanely raised feathered friends on my small woman owned Eco farm in the USA.
Feathers are hand packaged in a neat bunch and labeled with my farms information, the type of bird, the quantity and the size.
Size: M
Size Examples:
I have provided photos of these feathers with a United States Standard ruler which is twelve inches long (12"). A standard United States copper penny (1¢) is pictured with the ruler to further assist with scale.
If you are unsure of the size of feathers that you need, I strongly recommend getting a ruler, tape measure, dress makers tape, etc. and looking at the size/s you need in inches (rather than using the eyeball it in the hand method). First measure where you want to use the feathers and what your expectations are. When you see the approximate length, write it down and compare that length in inches to the feathers I have listed to help you find the size that's perfect for your needs.
