These real bird feathers mainly have buff centers that are laced in creamy white. Some of the feather centers are bigger than others, some may have very little, more of a line or even possibly solid white. The base of these natural feathers display a good amount of lighter colored fluff. Feathers have been cleaned and sterilized, they have not been altered or dyed. They have been carefully hand packaged and are ready for use.
- Qty: Approx. 30 assorted Buff Laced Polish hen feathers
- Size: Approx. 1.5-2.5" inches / 3.81-6.35 centimeters
Polish chickens are on the Livestock Breeds Conservation Priority List (resources) with fewer than 5,000 breeding birds in the USA, with ten or fewer primary breeding flocks, and estimated global population less than 10,000. When you purchase my birds feathers, you directly help me in my efforts to keep these birds.
I clean my birds feathers using filtered well water, Eco soap, vinegar and heat sterilization.
Feathers are hand packaged and labeled with my farms information, the type of bird, the quantity and the size.
I am not a reseller. I exclusively sell feathers only from my own humanely raised birds on my small Eco-farm.
Feathers are from my smoking free home, although I do heat my home exclusively with a wood stove as I am almost entirely off of the grid and this is my only source of heat.
Size: S
Size Examples:
I have provided photos of feathers with a United States Standard ruler which is twelve inches long (12"). A standard United States copper penny (1¢) is pictured with the ruler to further assist with scale.
If you are unsure of the size of feathers that you need, I strongly recommend getting a ruler, tape measure, dress makers tape, etc. and looking at the size/s you need in inches (rather than using the eyeball it in the hand method). First measure where you want to use the feathers and what your expectations are. When you see the approximate length, write it down and compare that length in inches to the feathers I have listed to help you find the size that's perfect for your needs.
